This year, we at JUMBO Clothing are proudly celebrating 50 years of dressing generations of South Africans in quality, value fashion - and it’s all thanks to you, the people of South Africa.
Since opening our first small shop in the Eastern Cape in 1975, we’ve grown into a trusted name in fashion for all South Africans. CEO Alan Scheckter bought the business, with just 17 stores, in 2006. Today, JUMBO has expanded to over 100 stores nationwide. Our promise has always been simple: quality clothes at the right price. After 50 years, that commitment remains as strong as ever - and Alan is more determined than ever to keep that promise alive. “We believe in South Africa, in its people, and in building a better future together,” says Alan.

JUMBO Clothing is more than just clothing stores - we’re family.
At the heart of JUMBO is the loyalty and love of both our customers and our staff. Families have been shopping with us for generations. Many of our customers remember coming to JUMBO with their parents or grandparents, and now they bring their own children. One shopper told us, “My mum bought my first winter coat at JUMBO. Now my kids love shopping here too.”
Our staff are a big part of this journey. Some have been with us for 20 or even 30 years. They serve with care, respect, and a smile. The JUMBO team lives by four simple words: Positive. Passionate. Proud. Caring.
